Well I had a long day of shooting and something interesting happened.

Everything was fine untill I took it apart. Then all of a sudden it wouldnt go back together.

The little hook shaped device on the left side was preventing the slide from moving back. It was fixed by gently pulling back and pushing down. The gun shot fine but needless to say it went back to Walther for fixing.

Can you explain, or maybe post a picture, of what "hook" thing you're talking about.

I'd guess he was talking about the extractor but that is on the right side of the gun. The slide stop which is on the left may be it. OH THE SUSPENSE IS KILLING ME!

OK behind the ejector rod, on the left side is a little L shaped piece of metal. It is right behind the pointed portion that sticks up. The lower side of the L sits toward the front of your firearm. I took pictures but they are blurred all to hell. Also walther has my guns.

I don't have one in front of me but that sounds like it may be the firing pin safety lever. As you pull the trigger that part rotates up and pushes the FP safety plunger so the gun will fire. My guess is there was nothing wrong and simply pushing it back down was the right "cure".

Well I got it back with a letter. Nothings wrong. I took it apart and it still kind of hangs up. Although not as bad. Its still jams up and thats upseting. I am going to call them back and bitch like a 2 yearold whos not getting what he wants.

Are you giving it adequate force when you're putting the slide back on. The slide on my compact goes back on super easy - I never pull hard enough to cock it even, but on my full size takes a little more force and winds up cocking every time. Perhaps yours is just a little more snug fitting.

The smith said he had to bang it on. I think maybe the rails are messed up. Can I get you to do something for me. The little L shapped piece, can you measure how far above the frame its sits when its fully forward. If the smith can figure it out maybe the walther forum can.

Looks like right around 1cm maybe a little less from the main rail.  Can you see any abrasion points on the frame with the slide off?  Dumb question but do you have the mag out when you're putting the slide back on?

Specifically I'd look at the small front and left side of the raised portion of the frame directly under the ejector above the warning in german. On both my full sized and compact you can see where its been chewed up by the slide some.   Perhaps some very gentle smoothing and a touch of grease here would help you out if you see the same.

By pushing down and back the part slides into place and can be replaced.

My frame is also a bit chewed up in that spot as well. I think it gets chewed up when you reassemble the gun after cleaning. At least it doesn't look like it will affect the functioning of the gun. Soybomb, do you just leave it alone or do you put grease or oil on that chewed up bit?
