there is one more difference in the 9mm mags
SW99 mags have a white or red followere were the Walther mags are black.....
.40S&W had black, orange and 2 different blue followers on the Walther mags...not sure if the SW99 mags are white and red also in .40S&W

as stated both housings are made in Italy by MecGar and are Identical but the markings on them...

My buddy and I just ordered (and received) 4 SW99 16rd (Leo marked) mags from CDNN..

All came new, (white followers) and function perfectly in both firearms. My friend has an SW99, I have the P99/AS.

I think we paid $29.99 more or less, each, and imo they were a bargain.. The magazines were in stock and took less than a week to get to my home.

Getcha' some!

Best Wishes,

They are identical to the P99 mags, with the only diffference being the logo on the floor plates. P99 and SW99 mags are made by Mecgar.
While they both function identically, that isn't accurate at least for 9mm, among other things the capacity difference in 9mm should tip people off.

The follower is different, the spring is different, and the body of the walther mag is reinforced better to me.

While this is true for the 16 round S&W mag and the 15 round Walther mag.....
the early 16 round Walther mags had the same body.. same spring and same style follower than the SW99 mags.... difference being the base plate and the color of the follower......
the change of the follower style, spring and mag body was just made for the 15 round mags......

never seen 15 rnd mags.

All of mine are 16.
I don't think its terribly relevant because my P99 hasn't failed no matter what I put into it, but I figured it was worth pointing out since as uncut said the 16 round walther mags are gone.

I do like the walther mags seem to have more side reinforcement and a higher quality finish. I've had to swab rust out of brand new sw99 mags before.

Ummmm
I know of a few people on this board that had their 10 round .40S&W replaced at no charge for 12 round .40S&W were legal to own.....
