I was noticing on AR15.com in one of the forums that you could take the extreme capacity magazine (30+) for a Springfield XD 9mm (i think thats the gun in question) and adjust it to hold .40. Though it held less, it was a cheaper solution or lack of those sized magazine for .40.

So I'm asking can this be done with the P99? I noticed a 33 round 9mm magazine for the P99 selling on Gunbroker. I asked the guy if he was selling any for .40 and he said no, but he thought that you could just load .40 into it without changing it at all.

Can this be done? If you have to make adjustments, what kind of adjustments and how?

Hadn't tested this so wondered if you all might know.

You should be able to use it, though you'll have to adjust the feed lips of the magazine to match the normal .40 caliber magazines or you'll likely have feeding problems.

The slide catch will also likely not work without adjusting the feed lips.

Thanks Stunks

I pretty much was leaning towards that assesment. Not quite sure if its worth it, but then again...make a wonderful range mag. I wonder how many it would hold in .40? Probably not all THAT much less.
