Hello all,

My first post, I bow to mighty elder Walther gurus.

I am buying a new firearm in near future, and I have fell in love with the ergonomics of Walther P99 on first touch. After few initial rounds, I even became friendly with the trigger (QA). However I have couple of questions regarding her.

* I plan to shoot on range, and also possible take her to IPSC / Production division shooting. Does anyone have experience how she performs? Most seems to have Glocks Glocks Glocks, and I really dont like G even if it is quality piece.

* Magazine release: How does it work in fast paced shooting and quick change of magazines? I am used to traditional thumb button myself.

* Accuracy: How does Walther P99 perform on range? I have heard shes accurate, but can she hold her own against other service class firearms in terms of accuracy?

* Reliability? FTF / FTE's in rapid fire?

I try to get to shoot one more thoroughly in near future, but if I could have opinions from long term Walther owners it would be greatly appreciated.

I have been shooting my AS version in USPSA for over two years...performs as good and better than most other production guns...

Magazine release: How does it work in fast paced shooting and quick change of magazines? I am used to traditional thumb button myself.

Mag release works great for ME...but ME is the operative word.
I have one model of auto that I shoot and that is the P99. Muscle memory is not a problem since this is how I train. You experience will be different but I like the "index finger mag release."

Yes. I would shoot it against any other pistol out there today...and would even put money on it if I were to bet....

* Reliability? FTF / FTE's in rapid fire?

As for mine, no problems, zip, zero, nada...none. The gun will out perform you and me both.
