Hello, I bought a P5, (nib) around 1995. It's still my
favorite pistol today , light, accurate, and fits my
hand better than any other pistol. Question, does
anybody know what the last year of production was?

Then why is the pistol not mentioned on their web site?
They list the old PPK/PPKS series still.

Had a mail exchange with a Walther's commercial last year. Told me that P5 and P5C were discontinued some years ago. Didn't mention any date but it sounded that production of the P5 ended between 96-8 and P5C in 2001-3.

Bye

Actually I was thinking about it after I posted this. Since the P88 came out about 1988 maybe it was discontinued in '88??

Just read that the Dutch police is looking for a replacement of the P5. The weapon is fine but it's too expensive as it's not generally available. They also want an ambidextrous weapon.

If you look at Lunde's pictures of his P5c
they have a date code of "AA"......
