For some reason, my original question does not appear at the top of the thread. At least I can’t see it.
I’m new to this forum, having recently acquired a German Police trade-in P5. The pistol has functioned without flaw and shoots very well. My concern is that the ejector exhibits quite a bit of play. Is this normal or something that needs attended to?
Looks like I provided a correct answer without even reading you post, as I couldn't see it either.

I just removed the slide on mine and I can wiggle the ejector just a little and mine is pretty much BNIB. So, with the slide off, the ejector will not be rock hard solid.....it'll be a bit loose.

I thought that I was going crazy there for a second...
I believe the ejector is held in place by the magazine, and a little hair spring which is easily lost. I believe the function of the spring is to limit the rattle when the mag is out. I believe I could be wrong about all of this.
