I've got a P-88 purchased NIB with approx 200 rounds now through it . The holdopen device workes perfectly with the magazine in , but manually operated with no magazine the slide often will not release using the thumb decocker. It releases ok by pulling back on the slide . Has this happened to anyone else ? Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Thanks for the reply , it's more of a nusiance than anything else.I looked further into it when the problem arises and the holdopen lug just barely catches on the slide, keeping it open , but the decocker will not depress to release it . It will release , however, when I pull back on the slide. If the lug firmly engages the slide - no problem - it will release normally. If an empty magazine is in place the lug will always engage fully,so it's not a big problem , just one that grates on you .
