Yes, an excellent read... I picked up one of the 1946 french occupation Hsc Mausers a few years ago. It's my understanding that a great many of these went to Indochina (Viet Nam) for the Foriegn Legion and the debacle of Dien Bien Phu. I really want an SVW P38 to display with Hsc. Thanks for the link and good luck

In Vietnam, there were many German weapons WW2.
And only a relatively small part was brought by the French. Mostly from the Soviet Union, directly or through China.

This was 1954 and the french were fighting the communist Viet Minh. Being a revolution force and ill equipped, I've no doubt were arming themselves with anything that would shoot...

Exactly, but I'm still recovering from Christmas. Six months ago, they had some for $1100.00. I should've snagged one then. Thanks for the link...
