Hi All,
Got handed down an old PPK and was wondering the potential value.
I've always loved the PPK nostalgia so I am happy to have it and wanted to know a little more about the history of this weapon and it's potential value.
Pictures are attached.

Love the "Made In West Germany" stamp
It's in ok exterior condition, is functional, is currently getting a proper cleaning and looking at by a gunsmith, and I do have the original cardboard box (not pictured).

Thanks for the help!

Very nice it looks to be from 1967 which is prior to the gun control act of 1968 which I think made the PPK's difficult to import because of its size or weight.

I don't know if that makes it more collectable or not.

It's somewhat hard to say what the value is on your PPK. The 1967 date and from what I can tell, no import marks, makes it a bit more desirable, but it also looks like it was "well loved" because of the finish wear. Most collectors look for war time PPK's, but there is a segment of collectors that just want a PPK, similar to yours, for other reasons, like James Bond nostalgia, etc.

I would suggest looking at Gunbroker and Legacy Collectables and compare your PPK (date and finish wear) with those that are being sold and those that are NOT being sold. A year or so ago I thought people were paying ridiculous prices for PPK's and other Walther's. It seems like the market has cooled a little and PPK's aren't selling like they used to. There are many on Gunbroker that I consider way over priced and they just sit there with no bids on them.

I know this doesn't answer your question with a specific dollar amount. I just think in today's market, if you want to sell it, than you just need to throw a number out there and see if someone buys or not.

As a pre-1968 PPK it's desirable, even with the wear shown in the photos. I would estimate it to be worth $700-1,000 with the box. Closer to the higher end with an original manual and spare magazine.

Here's my Walther PPK made in 1966 mint in the original box. I saw one very similar sell last year on Gun Breaker for over $5,000. Original box and extras adds a lot to the value evidently! I bought it from a friend, now deceased, who was the original owner, having purchased it in 1966. He never touched it. Amazing and beautiful treasure!

Love the "Made In West Germany" stamp
This mark of origin had to be applied due to US import regulations (models sold in other markets don't feature this stamp). After 1968, this special marking was no longer needed because the country of origin became part of the slide legend on non engraved models.
