The greater recoil is probably because the bore axis is higher. Essentially it is further away from the center line of your arm so there is more torque. You'll get used to it! I have the mepro night sights on one of my P99c's. I like them a lot although they aren't as bright as the TrueGlo TFO's I have on all my Glocks, the smaller size of the dot seems to let me be more accurate than I am with the TFO's.
