This listing struck me as rather odd. I've never seen a Walther PP with the 'P' suffix following the s/n only on the frame but not on the slide. Looking at the gun closely every proof mark and the slide legend are crisp and clear. It would seem near impossible that the gun was refinished based on that yet there is no serial number on the slide as was normal for the 'P' stamped pistols. Has anyone encountered this before? ~J

Numbering rhs on the slide was introduced in 1942. This gun was probably made in 1938 ;)
