i have a Holster question.. it's not the usual "which is best.. " question though..

what's a paddle holster? i know what IWB/OWB are etc..

as there's a crap law against civillian carry here in NZ (even our Police are unarmed) , i know nothing about Holsters

am looking to buy something online and like the look, features and reviews of a couple different brands

but knowing as much about styles as i can would really help me decide

thanx in advance for any help given

Depends on what you want and how you plan to carry.

The paddle refers to how the holster attaches to you belt. Usually a piece of plastic that resembles the end of a boat or canoe paddle that slips over your belt or the inside of your trousers? waistband. Easy on easy off is what makes the paddle so popular.

Here?s one made in Israel. Cheap price, battle tested and fairly durable, I don?t think you can beat it for the price.

now tell me, this isn't true about the police being unarmed
not by default.. they got tasers this year, but they're not general issue. as far as firearms go.. the normal cop on the street has a batton and a radio. i think they only have access to firearms if they're responding to something serious.. but there's a limited range available

we do have an Armed Offender Squad.. but they only respond to certain call outs.. im sure you can see which ones

I am sorry Fobus as a padel holster should be shot. They are poorly designed, are barely usable for the range, and if I grab hard and pull the holster goes with the gun. Buckle down and at least get a blade tech with good belt attachments.

I disagree. I think Fobus makes a great holster for the money. The paddle is easy on/easy off, and they do a good job of fitting the holster to the gun. They make great range holsters, and I own for just about every handgun I own.

Are they a $100 custom leather CC holster or a level 3 retention duty holster?
No. They don't try or claim to be.

What they are is an excellent value in an economy holster.

I have to agree with his disagreement. I use Fobus for carry, range and competition and have had zero problems.
