The Trijicons on my P99 are loose in the rear slot as well. The Walther design is not a press fit rear sight like the Glocks, it is an adjustable rear sight.
While I have never had any problems with my rear sight, I much prefer the Meprolights that I installed on my P99QA, they have a tighter fit in the rear dovetail, but are still easily adjusted.
Its just user preference on the contrasting rear lamps, the green lamps last longer and are a bit brighter than red/orange/yellow/blue.
As to the pistol not shooting to point of aim, with my P99 w/Trijicons and 115gr. FMJ, at 7 yards, I put the front sight directly on what I want to shoot, and its dead on target.
