I am thinking about putting night sights on my P99.  I love my P99 the way it is, and it shot accurately straight out of the box.  I have a couple of questions:

1) What brand of night sights should I get?

2) Are they as easy to put on as the stock sights that come with the P99?

3) WIll my extremely accurate gun have to be resighted?

Thanks.  This is my first post.

1.)  Meprolights.  Nice and bright and won't break the bank.

2.)  VERY easy to install provided you have (or make) the right tool for the front sight screw.  Also....make sure you use some blue locktight on that screw when installing.

3.)  My Meprolights have the same point of impact as the factory #4 front sight that came installed on the gun.

Hope this helps.

Yes, I like my meprolights also. I did break several sets before I realized the mounting screw bottomed out on the front sigh without tightening it though. They were very good about sending me new sights.

I've seen fiber sights in action and they aren't all that hot. Lets say that you're either a cop or armed security type the only time the fiber sights would work is in a well lit area. They work by absorbing light. The tritium (Mepro, Trijicon, etc) produce their own light and really do work in the dark, you could be in the middle of a forest with no moonlight and still see your sights.

Arizona Gun Runners, or if you are in the Dallas Fort Worth area, I can get them for $65 plus tax.

extremist: I am in San Antonio.

Checked out your website. When is the P99 subcompact coming out? Is that the S&W subcompact?

I expect that we will see the P99 Compact at the 2004 Shot Show. Probably won't be available until mid-2004. But that's just a guess.

I have pictures of the first P99 Compacts to go to dealers. A dealer in Canada is showing them as coming soon for law enforcement only.
