Greetings folks,
I am New to the Walther community having just purchased a PPQ M2 W/XS F8. I am an FN guy but enjoy any quality fire arm. I must admit that I am even a fan of a few Taurus models as well. That being said. When cleaning my New PPQ I couldn't help but notice that the surface area on the slide rails system was much smaller than my FN's, S&W's, Jericho's and even my Taurus. The PPQ is certainly a precision built fire arm but I was surprised by the slide rail system. I am certain others have noticed this but could not find much on line addressing the rail system. Any thoughts?

The same slide rail system has been used on the P99 since 1997. For the past 21 years, I don't recall ever hearing of a slide rail failure on these pistols.

The slide rails act like a guide more than anything. I wouldn't worry about it.
