New PK380 - Performed Perfectly

Test out new PK380 (manufactured late July 2012) today at the range.

It performed perfectly. No FTE, no jams, no sticks, no problem with magazine eject, no problem loading any rounds. I used Winchester white box 95 grain target ammunition. Pretty accurate and easy to handle.

It is on recall, but has not yet been repaired. I tested the safe functionality and it worked, but I'll be sending it in for repair once I receive my shipping label.

Even knowing the proper sight picture, I noticed at long range I was shooting a bit low. Just something to compensate for, and will get better as I get more familiar with the pistol.

I am very happy with the pistol now, and feel comfortable with my wife using it, or using it to conceal carry.

I have had the same great results! Although mine is post recall production date. I bought some super cheap ammunition just to try and make it malfunction haha. I really want to put it to the test.
mine is 2012 made as well and it worked fine
do your guns have clear SA break? i noticed mine has, which is quite different from past made copies i have handled (ref. to my update post a few days ago in sticky)
Double action (DA) is quite long. SA is very short in comparison.

What do you mean about SA break? I can explain how mine operates if you tell me more what you're looking for.

I still haven't received my Fedex slip (filled out form on website few weeks ago). Any idea how long that takes?
Call them again and ask them to send it out while you wait on the line. This happens from time to time, and it shouldn't. It's unacceptable, in fact; it should be instantaneous.
Sounds good. I'll call them tomorrow. Maybe with Walther America takes over, some of these issues with S&W will go away...
Maybe. But given the Umarex track record, I'm not at all optimistic. Still, we won't know until we know. :)

the SA trigger pull force vs distance is more like step function, very little resistance at the "lead" part, then it stopped at the break point, the final break is very crisp and well defined. past made SA resistance increases as you pull the trigger so the final break is not as well defined.
Well, speak of the devil. I received my label, called Fedex for a pickup, and the gun is going out tomorrow. All packed up so no more SA / DA testing.

I spoke to S&W last week and they said a team from Germany is in the country this week to repair pistols on site. So I should be able to get it repaired and back within a few weeks.
