Hi,

I'm new to the forum and new to the P99. I purchased my P99-40 two days ago. So far I love it!

I've shot 100 rounds through it so far, a mix of PMC, Win, and SB - all fmj. No problems so far except a sore trigger finger.

This leads to my first question:

The bottom portion of my right index finger rubs sometimes on the trigger guard. Does this go away or do I need to work on keeping my finger higher up on the trigger? Has anyone experimented with removing material on the upper portion of the trigger to allow the finger to naturally be positioned higher or is this unadvisable?

I've contacted the Doc on the IWB holster purchase but I really would like leather belt holster as well. The search is on.

Most of us die hard Walther guys lop off the bottom of our finger so it does not rub...the Walther is perfect, so God must of made our fingers wrong. Only hurts for awhile, you will feel less pain if you chant "Walther is perfect, my P99 is perfect".

haven't had a problem with the trgger guard, but i smoothed out the ridges on the left side mag release. no more raw trigger finger...

After looking at the issue further, it seems as if my problem is with my finger.  I will proceed with finger dismembering shortly.

On my way home today I stopped by a local forested hill and set up some targets and shot another 150 rounds. I love this pistol. It is the one of the few pistols that I have shot that I don't shoot low and left without a lot of work. I was actually able to group shots a couple of times. I think that with a little more practice I should group shots all the time. I love this pistol.

Upon further looking at the finger issue, I think that the tip of my finger is resting on the edge of the trigger as I pull it, not rubbing on the trigger guard as I stated before. This is what cause the soreness. The guy at the shop said it was the same for him when he first started shooting Glocks, but that it got a lot better. So it's either grow some calus or nip the finger tip off or grind the radius larger on the trigger.
