Hi group!
Great chat site, glad I found it!
Ok, here's my problem. Just bought a new P-99 in .40 and through some research, learned that my particular gun is a 1999 model with the orange magazine followers. There may be a problem with the slide prematurely locking back with rounds still in the mag.
Now for the wrinkle... I am a Sheriffs deputy in Colorado and soon will be carrying the P-99 on duty. I am a little concerned.
Anyone out there in a similar fix?

Try looking at this Walther FAQ webpage for some explaination.  It seems if you contact Walther (or S&W) and get the newer blue-topped mags, you will be in good shape.

Nice to see more law enforcement is using this weapon.  It is an excellent pistol. I own a .40 and greatly prefer it to any 9mm I have shot. I recently qualified for my concealed-carry permit with a 95.8 on a 50-round course with my P99.
