I went to the range yesterday and had a problem with my rear sight moving to the right on me about every other shot. I kept adjusting the sight adjustment screw on the right side counter-clock wise, and it would still keep moving to the right on me when I fired. Anyone know what the problem might be? Any good advice would be great.

sounds like you are either missing a part or something broke. I wish I still had my old sites I would have sent them to you. Call Walther America and talk to the tech guy(ask for the tech guy). Ask him what he thinks and also there should be a video on here that shows how to take the sights off. Check youtube as well. That should get you started at least.

I called Walther America this morning and the tech guy said it was the detent spring, either bad or poped out. They are sending me a new one. I will refer to your video and install it when it arrives.
Thanks again

Good luck.

If U ever end up having to order a new rear sight assembly - ask to buy the one for the SW99 instead of the P99. It is the exact same sight (I have both the P99 and SW99) - and it's like $10 less for the Smith version. For whatever reason, Walther parts cost more even when it is the exact same part.

jenglish,

You do not need any special tools for the rear sight, you just push down the retention plunger on the right side and slide the rear sight off. For the front sight, I used a meprolight nut driver in my video. It can be purchased from many sites, it ranges from $15-25. I purchased mine here:

I got mine for about $10, but I also purchased 20 sets of Meprolights at the same time.
