My 87XX has the same 3 grooves. After putting a few clips down range, have you tried picking up the casings? Hot hot hot! My guess is it's the GBB creating the heat. Loving the CCP so far. I like the weight of the SS. Going to the range tomorrow and will probably leave the 26 at home. The real comparison starts when the 43 is released I suppose.

The reason everyone expects perfection to carry is fear. They fear the gun will jam, and even worse they fear clearing the jam in time. 99% of jams is easy to clear and to clear right now. Stop the fear or get a wheel gun!:D
It's not the gun I'm worried about jamming, It's me! :D

My malfunctions aren't as easy to clear!

The CCP got kinda warm, both the frame and the slide,

Griff :D
I'm not sure I would worry about a pistol getting a bit hot when you fire it continuously 100 or more times. In a self defense situation the very fact that you have a firearm might be all that is needed to end the threat. You certainly won't be firing 100 or 200 rounds. If that is necessary......you aren't in a self defense situation....you have found yourself in a war. M1911

I agree with you. If I need to fire over 100 rounds, I have a couple of other choices to help out - XDs 9, Baby Desert Eagle in .45, M&P 9, just to name a few. I was just making the observation that everyone had been wondering about with the heat. It's not enough to make me put the gun down on it's own merit, but I do let it rest a bit after several mags are run through it. I want to keep it for a long time and don't want to have any issues because I didn't let it cool down any. All of my weapons get warm after running a couple hundred rounds through them, but some were asking earlier if it got hot. Yes, but not unbearably so.

Back to the range in a few days to put more rounds down the pipe. We'll see how it does then.

Griff

Serial #36xx. Has the chamber mouth work, slit in slide channel but no messing with feed ramp. Over 500 rounds, no issues. No issues with 2 newly purchased extra magazines as well.:)

We might somewhere along the line note when Walther ran out of the earlier manufactured pistons with full rings, three of which were removed and the point where new pistons were manufactured without the three rings. I expect there is absolutely no difference in performance between the two, Walther testing probably caused the piston to be modified shortly before release. No point in keeping on having to mill off the rings. What are we up to now...xxxx9000 or so in serial numbers? M1911

I just put another 100 rounds through mine yesterday, t hat puts me at around 600 since i bought it at the beginning of march and so far so good. I still love it i put cheap monarch brass through it yesterday and it fired great. had 1 stove pipe that i credit to the ammo not the Gun yesterday. I dont shoot it as well as my Springfield or p99 but i credit that to the smaller size and the fact i am still new to this gun and this size of firearm. but yeah guess im one of the few who loves the CCP.
