More desirable PPK or PPKS?

1115 Views 5 Replies 4 Participants Last post by  halfmoonclip
New owner of a Interarms Walther SS PPK. Question for those in the know...In terms of a “collectors” item, is a PPK more desirable than a PPKS? Also, is “blued” more desirable than SS? Lastly, is Interarms considered a better choice than S&W?

Thanks and looking forward to your response!

As far as collectability, a PPK is more desirable than a PPK/S. .32 is also the more desirable caliber. Interarms is also the better choice between the two makers. Finish is not an issue either way IMO.

That said, a German made PPK trumps all in collectability.

ErichS, is that because there were fewer PPK’s made than the PPKS version?
No, the PPK is the original design and the PPK/S was just a hybrid to get by the US 1968 gun regulations. If the regulations didn't happen there would be no PPK/S.

It's because the PPK was banned from importation into the US in 1968. It's cheap as dirt in Germany.

We all thot' the PPK/s was like a pretty girl with a big nose when it first arrived, but we adjusted to it. It did make for a bigger grip for those who desired such.
Some things never change; the new Glock 19x is a 19 slide with a 17 lower; bigger grip and more capacity.
