I was reading a post in another thread about a broken slide stop and it got me wondering about the composition of the metal.

Does anyone know if the newer ppk/s made by S&W use any MIM parts? The steel on my slide stop looks a bit different than the rest of the handgun. That may be because the rest is stainless, or just the finish being different.

Thanks for your thoughts,
MLB

Good chance they are use in their wheel guns. I just don't buy any S&W anymore. Their quality isn't their. Barrels falling off and other brakage. I hate the silly lock but I could live with that if the pistol was of better quality. Now I hear their going to stop with the blue guns. Well I don't call the black paint blueing to start with. For same or less you can find a real blue or pre cheapen smith used.

Don't know enough to tell for sure if they ate MIM, but the trigger, hammer, and sear have fairly visible casting marks. The ones on the hammer and trigger polished right out.
