Okay, I saw a P99 Millenium (commemorative for the year 2000) on the local shop. I believe only 2000 have these markings and are numbered as such. A couple of questions...
1. Is it made/assembled in Germany?
2. It is selling for $300 more than the regular P99s, would it lose its value/appeal if it is shot?
3. Anything special about the Millenium or is it just a standard P99 except for the markings?
Just curious if guns like these are meant to be kept and not shot...Thanks in advance.

more for a collector hence the price differance. Nothing different except for the cosmetics. Yes, shooting such a gun decreases its value.

1. Yes it is made in Germany.
2. The $300 extra comes from being Laser engraved/special edition/special leather bound case/Walther history video/etc. etc. etc.
3. Yes, the Millenium is a collectors item and will retain more value if not shot.

Just curious, how much did they want?

Earl's was selling them for $795 at Christmas time, he may still honor that price. Here's the link: http://www.carlwalther.com/specials.htm

I have a 9mm version and thought about getting a .40 version - then I said - Nah, I've got enough P99s

But it's definitely a keeper - not a shooter.

Folks, check out the Trading Bin on our own forum:

http://www.gothammarketing.com/bb....;t=2846

That's a used Y2K P99 in 9mm for $535 shipped. At that price, enjoy the added beauty AND shoot it.

Another point of reference on pricing... and this one was "new old stock" for $562 shipped:

NOTE: Apologies for bringing this old one to the top! I had several browser windows open and didn't realize this one was a time machine of sorts before I posted a response.
