Yesterday I went to the Los Altos Rod and Gun club which is in the Santa Cruz mountains. It was chilly/drizzly in the valley but as I drove up the temps dropped to close to zero C. It's an outdoor range so conditions were a little miserable with the occasional bit of rain blowing in under the roof but it gave a sense of 'realism'. It was also very quiet with only one other pistol and one rifle station open.

Then it started to snow. Well, that's rare here in the valley so it was quite a sight for me. That's when the magazines with red followers stopped locking the slide back on empty. The ones with blue still worked fine. I had run the red ones three days earlier at my regular indoor range and they were fine.

Has anyone else noticed this? I know the red followers are notorious for this problem but I didn't realize it seems temperature related.
