I recently got two new mags direct from Walther USA to replace the earlier faulty mags with the orange followers.  On my first trip to the range to today, the butt plate on one of the mags broke off after firing 7 shots.  The mag had never been dropped, mishandled or otherwise abused.  Has anyone ever experience such a failure on a brand new mag?

Ummm
Did you get  another .40S&W 10 round mag

If so you might have gotten one from a batch of bad "buttplates" (only 10 rounders were affected)
Do a search on the forum... there is plenty of posts about them... call S&W back and tell them that your buttplate broke and they will make it right...
