Hello I have a Walther HP Austrian rework shooter I bought this weekend for 400. This is my first wartime shooter p38 as I don't shoot my nice examples.

Now what is the best production ammo for this gun that will be easy on the slide and frame? I hear these guns love to crack? Thanks

The P38 is not as delicate as some people make it sound. Stick to standard 115 or 124 FMJ ammunition made for range use by any of the old-line American manufacturers and shoot to your heart's delight. Federal American Eagle, Winchester white box or Remington UMC are all worry-free and will not over-stress the gun.
