Am I correct that Walther now has lifetime warranty on all their firearms?

buying a PPQ m2 9mm 4", and they say there is only one yr. from manufacturer and got me for $24 for lifetime warranty. If Walther has lifetime warranty, I am going to ask for refund....gun to be here Tues.

Katie Joe, are you saying the gun store sold you this lifetime warranty? If they did, go back and kick em' in the jewels and get your money back. Better n' that, when the gun comes in, tell em' you've discussed this life time warranty thing with Uncle Joe, Billy Jo, Betty Jo and Bobbie Jo and they've informed you that Walthers have a Legendary Limited Lifetime Warranty. And, after careful consideration you've decided not to buy any firearms from their establishment. If you've already paid for it, this could be a little bit of a problem.....of course, you could sick Bobbie Jo on em'.

Good luck, hope everything works out for ya.

I would assume they will refund me for this when advised Walther provides lifetime warranty....Is Bud's Gun Shop ok- saw the PPQ at pretty good price, so I ordered it from them
Sure Buds is okay......they're been around for a while.

Good luck and enjoy your new Q from Buds.
The gun literature may say 1 year, but I can attest to the lifetime warranty from Walther, well at least a long time. I’ve sent my PPK .380, a S&W version which I bought used from a gun show back to Walther twice now and they fixed it for free inclusive of shipping both ways.

A "Lifetime Warranty" that extends only as long as the gun remains in current production is not much of a warranty. Also one that does not specify whose life is referred to: yours or the gun's, or the manufacturer's. It's such a game...

The language makes it appear that the warranty is based only on the firearm and not the owner's life.....If you purchase a Walther firearm, it carries its Legendary Warranty regardless of whether or not you are the original purchaser. However your point regarding manufacturing is correct....Our warranty provides unwavering support for your new firearm and continues for the life cycle of the product as long as the company manufactures and supports it. Has Walther ever ceased supporting a model that was not also out of production?

I had the same issue with Ruger. I have a 44 mag carbine dating back to the sixties. Had to send it back to Ruger a couple of times. Not sure when they stopped production of this rifle, but when the did the "lifetime warranty" went away. Really not a problem though. Several good gun smiths and repair services out there.
As I read it, the obligation ends when the company unilaterally announces that it no longer "supports" a product.

That's "Legendary" all right.

Mike,

So they reserved a legal right not to service the models that were discontinued a long time ago.

However, it is reasonable to assume that they would make an effort to help you if parts are still available. Not because they are so generous but because American consumers have so many options to spend their money elsewhere.

I would check if the warranty covers discontinued models. If it does you might want to keep it.The lifetime warranty doesn't cover discontinued models like the creed and pps
I just inherited a 2007 Walther P22. I sent in the Original Certification from Walther, just a few days ago. The person that purchased the Walther fell ill and passed, it has never been shot. Just yesterday I finally found ammo and hope to fire the Walther, for the first time, next week. So does that mean that I'm covered by this magical mystery lifetime warranty?
