KKJ trigger guard/front sight material

I have a nice-looking KKJ in 22 LR on the way. Everything looks good but there is some finish loss on the trigger guard. I'm inclined to leave it as is, but I am interested in knowing what it and the front sight base are made of. I'm guessing some sort of aluminum/zinc alloy. Also, is Earl's pretty much the go-to place for a spare magazine and any parts/repairs I might need down the road? Thanks in advance.

Those parts were made of Zamak (mostly zinc) and "blacked" with whatever industrial process is used for that material. Probably flash-plated with iron and then blued or oxided.

A respectable refinish can be obtained with light dust-coats of black semi-gloss epoxy paint.

Earl's is "the go-to place" for the truly desperate.

Thanks for the confirmation, and the suggested remedy.
