I think the stamp on the exit port means 1970 but other then that I’m clueless on value. Thx!
It is a German and has the police marking on it.
But other marks lead me to the 1940s and some to the 1950s...

Ulm/Do. means post war, the 70 means 1970, the [Nds] means "Niedersachsen", i.e. the West German State of Lower Saxony, i.e. issued to police.

I see nothing on there that would lead anyone to think 1940s or 50s.

1, The state of Niedersachsen was formed on November 1st 1946 from the states of Hannover, Braunschweig, Oldenburg and Schaumburg-Lippe.

2, Until the end of WW2, Carl Walther was located in Zella-Mehlis, Thuringia,
and moved to Ulm/Danube after.

3, the serial number 399,923 falls right into the production year 1970 (422,081 is 1971/72)

And this guy is full of crap, for above reasons:
