Don't carry my .40, but when I'm at the range, it seemed to like everything I fed it (with the exception of the premature slide lock-back problem, which will be fixed when I get my new blue-follower mags
).

Speer 155gr Lawman, CCI Blazer 155gr FMJ, Fiocchi 170gr FMJ, is mostly what I shot the last time out.

Most of the accuracy tests I've seen seem to favor the 180gr FMJ, but I haven't ever bought any of the 180gr stuff.

Congratulations on your (first) P99!

For target shooting at the range, I usually shoot my own reloads, but occasionally, I shoot CCI Blazer 180 grain FMJ ammo.

For "carry", it's the 165 grain Remington Golden Sabers.  According to all the stats I've read, they always rate as one of the best.  For a good price on these, look here:  www.kieslersonline.com

My P99 will feed and fire any and ALL .40 ammo.

155 Remington prints high about 1/2".
165 Winchesters are at POA/POI...Direct center mass every shot.
180's [any brand] are about 3/8" lower than the 165's on the target.
I have Mep's nite sights on the gun.

Hope this helps....
Chris~
