I bought an OD P99 in .40 S&W. I wasn't crazy about the green, the QA or buying another 40 cal. I was holding out for a 9mm AS. Anyway, this one was in new condition and dirt cheap so I bought it. My initial impression of the trigger was it sucks. Too heavy and plenty of creep. Anyway, I shot 400 rounds today and I fell in love with it after the first five rounds. I carry a glock 23 and have to say the walther's recoil seems to be much less. It amy becomemy new winter carry gun.
I have read a few post on the glock $.25 trigger job being applied to the P99 but I didn't see any posts on someone actually doing it. Anyone try? I'm not a smith but I have done in on several of my glocks with no problems. The internals seem very close to the glock. I'm just thinging I could smooth out the trigger faster. I don't want to cut any coils out though.

To my recollection the attempts to use Glock springs ended up in a unreliable P99......
also to my recollection the best results where in cutten some of the stricer spring coils off (3-5 if my memory serves me well)

but I am sure that this post might serve you well.. it's overall a good read and some good bullet points to take from

I was thinking more in terms of trying to polish the same internals as you do when performing a glock .25 trigger job. I'm not too keen on tampering with the striker spring.

If that is what you are looking for.....
Snapcaps... and pull the trigger 500 times....

Sorry I did never tamper with anything... so all I did was hoping to point you to the right direction......I guess I miunderstood the $.25 triggerjob..... hence telling you now to get Snapcaps
