90 degree safety. I believe Walther went to the 60 degree safety in 36/37. So it was made before 1936/1937. Looks nice. BUY IT!

Probably made pre war in (late) 1935. So called 'commercial' version.

90° saftety: We know about PP/PPK made in 1938 with 90° safety.

Beautiful pistol and in a good caliber. Won't replace the one Dad brought back sentimentally but that is a beautiful pistol. If your friend doesn't purchase it let us know what they are asking and where it is. There is a section here or posting information on pistols you run across but aren't interested in purchasing. If I were wanting a PPK that one would work. 1917

A friend of mine is thinking of buying this PPK. He wants to replace the one that his Dad brought back in WW2 and was lost years ago. Can anyone tell me if anything about this PPK?

The seller wants $1600 for it. Do you think that is too much?

If tthey are not two piece grips, yes.

That's a very nice pistol but those grips are going to be very brittle. Probably not a good choice for a shooter at $1,600.
