Hello all. I'm a new forum member and a new first time Walther owner. This is my first post so please be gentle. I'm an old, retired guy who took up hand gun shooting and reloading as hobbies about 5 years ago. Most of my pistols are full sized, metal framed, hammer fired in both single action and DA/SA. But I do like trying unfamiliar platforms, so I'll pick up something interesting, shoot it a while and then sell it, unless I really like it. Even though it's hugely different from what I'm used to, I really like my 4.5" PDP so I'm keeping it. I've got about 500 rounds through the gun and I've had to make a lot of adjustments but it's been fun. I received the optic plate from Walther this week and a Holosun 507c should deliver today. I like to order the iron sight from Walther that co-witnesses, but they're out of stock. Does Walther re-stock often or do I need to find another source? Is the Taylor Freelance brass backstrap the best option? I'm also considering the TF magwell. I didn't mean for this to be this long. I'm glad to be here and thanks in advance for any info/advice.

Just curious have you ever co-witnessed a RDS on a pistol? Most people seem to prefer lower 1/3rd but that's just what I've heard I'm sure it's just personal preference. I'm not sure which sites on walthers website you are referring to, could you drop in a link?

I have a Staccato P that came optic ready including iron sights that co-witness with the rds. I'm fine with a 1/3rd or "low" co-witness. I was thinking that the stock PDP sights would not be visible at all through the red dot. Below is the link to the low witness buis listed on the Walther site.

I searched around for the SKU and they appear to be out of stock everywhere. Would these possibly work? BUIS for RMR / Holosun Fits GLOCK or Walther PDP - OPTICS READY / DIRECT MILLED SLIDES Black Front and Rear - C&H Precision Weapons

The Walther sights have been out of stock for months now. I had requested availability info almost 2 months ago and they suggested to find an alternative as they did not know when they would be available again.
I REALLY wish they'd remove the "Add to cart" button when something is out of stock, drives me nuts on Walthers website.

It's pretty much going to be a range gun so I'm not in a huge rush. If I get impatient, I'll probably call Dawson Precision. That's disappointing about Walther's site. The Holosun came and I installed it on the gun. Super easy! I live in the sticks and have enough property to have a little range and bench in the back yard. I shot six rounds of my reloads from a rest and the pics show the results. Needless to say, I made no adjustment. The PDP with the red dot sight look like a great combination to me. I really appreciate the info.

Definitely looks like it increased your accuracy unless the very first target was used at a few different distances, I'd just negate the flyer and call it a 1.5" grouping, which is great!

It’s the Tungsten guide rod
I think Sprinco USA -- Recoil Solutions makes one as well if you can navigate their insanely outdated website design (control-f and PDP or PPQ) but why are they even making this and not even including it in something like the PDP pro and charging an extra $30 or something? Some of their decisions are just baffling. I've encountered companies like Sig selling Upgrade parts from HIGHER end models (like how Walther does with the DPTrigger), but why make something and then not even have a model that has it? Insanity.
