Back from the EOC...expect flooding and remember critters will be heading to high ground including the nasties like fire ant swarms!

Good news for me! I get to stay home until this thing passes.

There is speculation now the thing could sit over Florida for some time.

I'm in the panhandle and really dont need to be dealing with a storm right now. Some are just getting over last year's mess.
The models I've seen today seem to show it running up the east coast. The pan handle has had more than enough. Actually a few models are showing a run off the east coast. Too early to get hopeful

Better news today...we are smiling at the EOC! While folks are still on very high alert and things could change, it does seem the worst of the storm will stay off shore.

I'm going to take a long nap this afternoon.

We are seeing some signs that it has reached its max strength and may begin to weaken. (If a Cat 3 storm can be considered weak) Anyway our modeling show this beginning Monday or possibly late tomorrow.

This would be good news all around. As I said earlier I'm thoroughly sick of hurricanes and the stupid decisions people make during them.

With all the Work FPL has done around Hobe Sound, since 2004. I am hoping we don't loose Power, or at least too soon. Last one that came through 2 Years ago, We never lost Power in my Area, then the next Day at 1pm, what does FPL do? Turn off my Power for 2 Days to hook up someone else! I never could get ahold of anyone from FPL. and all the Trucks running around Martin County, were from out of State, and another Company. It is almost like they were trying to hide while they did this. They did this without any warning as well. Paul

Storm has shifted west so Florida is back in play. The only good news is that the storm center is very compact being about 30 miles wide.

You’re out... you’re in... its such a waiting game. I spent about 6 hrs today helping ill prepared neighbors trying to hang ply wood over windows they didn’t have shutters for. I’m absolutely amazed how grown men are unaware that sheet rock screws will not hold plywood into concrete 🤯. Luckily I had a couple boxes of tapcons left over from suring my screen enclosure to the ground.

Uhhh... I miss Florida but I don’t miss hurricane season. I have family in Cocoa and they always refuse to leave their homes. Praying that Dorian keeps turning north and skirts the entire state.

Evacuation orders lifted in SLC as of 0600.

The worst stupid was an idiot who did a header into one of our high-water Hummers after a night of drinking and weed. He decided to go out during a strong rain band...

Florida...stupid people making stupid decisions. He'll be at the bar motel for a while.

Ha, I gave up drinking years ago. I realized I could act stupid without the assistance of alcohol.

Glad to see the ole hurry-cane just made a glancing blow.
We know...we've seen some of your shirts...:)

(Sorry, I just couldn't resist.)

Thanks for all the good thoughts and support fart. Nice to know you folks are thinking of us.

Such clever descriptions from TV for the wind and rain. I see this morning rain is "lashing" Daytona.

The other day, it was a "Very Dangerous Category 4".

Is there any other type?
