Hey there everybody..

Figured I'd make my introduction here. :)

I own a P99 9mm in the OD green. It's a 2002 model, so closed rail. :(

I've owned it SINCE 2002, bought it brand new, and carry it on duty every day. I absolutely LOVE this gun, and spread the word about it to all my buddies. LOL

I don't really have any real questions at the moment, I guess. I've been (vaguely) considering trading it in for a newer model so I can have the open rail, but I'm stuck on having the OD frame. I noticed when I browsed the Walther site that they don't seem to be offering the OD anymore, and now offer a desert tan instead.

I did some searching on here before I joined, and it seems like the closed-rail adapter seems to be hard to find, so I'm not sure if I want to pay a premium to find one, or just pay the difference to trade in. Decisions, decisions! LOL

Anyhow, hi everybody!

Welcome!!!

It's been said here a thousand times...."Never sell a good gun!"

By all means buy the newer model - but keep the older one - if you are like me you will just pay more when you buy it back later on .... assuming you still can!!!! :)

The OD is offered for the "QA" model only
the "AS" is not offered in "OD"
same with the Dessert Sand... only for the "QA" and to top it only for the .40S&W

Since it is not listed anymore and CDNN is selling the Dessert Sand ones for $430 it might be that it got dropped also
