It's all in the date codes.  Look on your frame or on the chamber hood exposed in the ejection port.

A means zero, B means one, C means two, and so on.

SOOOO, if you have an AC date code, then you're pistol was made in 2002 or "02".

You can also look at the fired case that came with your pistol for an approximate date...

is the date code part of the serial number?

I want to make sure i am getting the correct year P99, but the distributor that my store uses has no customer service and is only a computer automated ordering system. the computer shows some info about the handgun, like model, caliber and serial number, but no year model. so if i know the serial number can I figure out the year model it is?
