What kind of condition is it is in? Will you listing it here on the forum? If so I would probably be interested. Thanks

Oh, what an old thread! Would the offence become already time-barred if I admit that I own a P88 Compact? My exemplar is quite unique... unique in the sense that probably it will remain a unique item in my collection. It's somehow my Walther gun I'm least interested in. Actually, I don't particularly like its design and when it comes to shooting I prefer smaller and smoother calibres.

Balogh, if you were in the USA instead of Switzerland, then you would have plenty of buyers for a P88 Compact. They are a small percentage of the sales of the P88. Curiously, I really like my P88c, and I have no strong desire to get a full-size P88.

BTW, I finally found a like-new example of the SIG P230 in 9 Police. You know, the one that is common and inexpensive in your country? Thanks again for your prior input on the history of those in Switzerland.

I'm glad that you finally managed to get one in such a good condition. I remember having discussed the model in 9mm Police which is rather unpopular in Switzerland because of the sad incident where a police officer lost his life because his P230 didn't function. Therefore, the models in 7.65mm B and even in 9mm kurz are always preferred in my country. I congratulate you on the purchase of the NOS P225 too.

Several years ago I asked for help on this website regarding the P88. I was interested in buying one but heard it was a little on the large size; the information here helped steer me away from buying one. I then had a chance to hold one & was glad I did not buy it as it did not fit me at all.

By chance I came across a P88 Compact online at an attractive price. I was hesitant, given my experience with the full size gun, but took a chance and bid. I won unexpectedly.

I must say that I am very happy with it. While I still prefer the ergonomics of the Sig I think the trigger is superior and it is easier to disassemble.

Congratulations. Glad it worked out for you.

I got super lucky between March and April. I found 2 Walther P88 full sizes in the most anti gun birthplace of California. Both were found a month apart, in Silicon Valley of all places. Serial 6833 and 6912.

Quite a feat because were burdened with a safe handgun roster. Guns not on that list create a premium market since they are not allowed to be sold in the state unless it has been currently owned by a CA resident while it was still approved for sale in CA. It’s complicated.

Fabulous shooters! Really timeless and elegant.

I've had a P88 and P88 Compact on my wanted list since the mid 1990's but, as much as my lust overfloweth, I couldn't bring myself to spring for one. I was at the height of my Sig Sauer obsession during the mid 1990's and as much as I loved Walther pistols, I couldn't rationalize the difference in price. Then, life, marriage, kids, college, etc. took priority for quite awhile and I put my aspirations of owning a P88 on the back burner...until last week. This one is inbound and should be here around the end of the week! Stoked!
