Besides the basics, what do you guys(since we all own pretty much the same gun) clean around on the P99 besides the basics?

Also, what products do you use to keep her shiny, clean, and lubbed?

not much, scrub out the barrel, wipe out the brass shavings inside the slide, and a little lube on the locking lug, barrel and slide, little goes a long way. That's it. I use the oily patch to wipe the recoil spring because it rubs on the frame but I don't think it makes a difference. I don't really do it all that often. I'm treating it about like a Glock

You don't wipe the inside of the barrel with oil do you?

Aren't you suppose to clean all dust or gun powder that has accumalated. Then oil the rail parts where metal meets metal, and plastic. The recoil spring you oil a lot?

Can someone tell me how to clean my gun and then oil it then?

Basics would include running an oiled bore snake through the barrel. And rails, I very lightly oil the spring, the outside of th barrel and the bolt face. I mostly shoot Blazer so the gun stays clean mostly. I did make the mistake of blowing 100 rounds of Monarch and will never buy that crud again. I had to clean soot out of even the magazine after.
