I'm brand new to Walther and to this forum. (I've been using the forums to learn.) I just picked up my first Walther: It's an Interarms PPK 380 blued. Based on the sticky note about Interarms production dates, it was built sometime between 4-94 and 11-94. It appears in good condition, and it seems to operate correctly, however I was not in a position to fire it before buying it. It came in the original plastic box (internal date molded 5/94) with manual and both magazines and a cleaning rod.

So, my question is this: are there any specific points I should check before live firing this pistol?

I am not a newbie to pistols, just to this specific make. Thanks for your help!

The only thing I got — check the barrel. Make certain it's clean and free of any obstructions. If the rest of the pistol handles normally when manipulated, give her a try at the range.
