With the the popularity of the 007 movies and other franchises, I was wondering how many of you were turned to the P99 because of something Bond related.

I'll admit I got interest in the P99 from Die Another Day, but I bought it because of its functionality and feel in the hand. I think it'd be interesting to post another poll later to see why people bought the P99. I wonder if some people bought it because 007 has it, much like the sales of .44 Magnum revolvers went up after Dirty Harry's release

I decided to buy my first pistol last fall. I did research on the internet to see what was available in 9mm semi-auto. My Dad has a WWII era PPK that I had shot years ago, so I knew the Walther name. He also has a Glock 17 which I had used at the range once and no light came down from heaven to let me know I had achieved 'perfection'
I looked around, asked questions of the gun owners I knew, and ended up buying the P99 because of the Walther name and reputation. But if the USP had been cheaper, I might have gone that way...

I really like my P99. It shoots well, looks sexy and is easy to take down for cleaning. I'm glad I bought it!
