What you said is actually the reverse. The PPQ comes from the factory with a shorter front sight than the P99 and its aftermarket sights, so #3 with the factory PPQ sight, #2 with the P99 factory and aftermarket sights.
Hmmm, I have a #4 front blade on my M1 in 40 cal. I hate that #3 sight picture... totally obscures the target. I'm going to see if I can get some shorter blades from Walther.

As far as i know there are two different factory sights for the PPQ M1. A polymer sight and a steel sight.
Are there differences how to aim with? Anyone who knows that? Because i think nearly everyone of you has the polymeres on your pistol, but mine will come with the steel ones (i think)

My PPQ FE came with steel night sights, which are the same as the PPS sights. They are non-adjustable and sit a little lower than the adjustable ones. Other than that, pretty much the same.

As far as I know, Walther uses sight Image #3 on all their pistols. In addition, all PPQ's come with the plastic sights, with the exception of the 'First Edition'. If your PPQ has steel sights, rest assured if didn't come from the factory with those sights. The First Edition is the only Q that sports steel sights from the factory.

edit: Sorry, I didn't see that you were from Germany....my bad. Yep, you'll more than likely have steel sights. However, as far as I know they will still use sight image 3.

@Mig1
Thanks for clarification, i hope it is well zeroed for me if I cannot adjust it... Are you satisfied with it? or did you change it to another sight?

@imaoldfart
Thank you too, but i'm not a US citizen, i'm from Germany. (Thats the reason why my english perhaps sometimes is a little bit strange, i dont know)
There is no PPQ M2 to order, we only have the "Classic". Or to say short: Only paddles in Germany ;-)

And only stock steel sights as far as i know
Walther does not produce the M2 for the german gun market

[Edit] And thank you for the sight image

3D Shadow, we are all jealous of you :)

We all want steel sights and paddle mag release! I'm very lucky I got mine from G&R Tactical.

EDIT: OK, maybe not ALL of us.

My notes:

PPQ/P99 Sight sizes and part numbers list
Citing information from these three sources I compiled a list.

Which front sight does the PPQ come with??
Rear sight other than #2?
http://www.carl-walther.de/public/do...7_f_ET_PPQ.pdf <-- PPQ Parts List
http://www.carl-walther.de/public/do..._ET_P99_AS.pdf <-- P99 Parts List

Note: PS means Phosphor sights

What size front sights come with the P99?
Four front sights come with every P99, and are marked with a single digit on the top-front of the blade. Their heights, measured from the base of the sight to its top, are as follows:
#1 = 3.6mm
#2 = 3.9mm

#3 = 4.2mm
#4 = 4.5mm
#5 = 4.8mm Sight Image #2
#6 = 5.1mm

(#1 & #2 are used by the Smith & Wesson SW99 chambered in .45 Auto. )

UPDATE The following is from the P99 official parts list linked at the top, parts listed immediately above this section may be an obsolete list

Glock front sights fit on the PPQ & P99, but need to be tightened down well to prevent movement. Threadlocker would be good. Either version of Glock TFO sights should work on the PPQ, but the front sight height is the same in the two sets. The higher front sight would likely push your point of impact down from your point of aim.

Again, only the FRONT Glock sight fits on the PPQ/P99. The rears do not.
Mepro P99/PPQ sights, measured and compared to TFO sights by

PLEASE NOTE: PPS SIGHT #S ARE DIFFERENT FROM PPQ/P99 SIGHT NUMBERS.
Refer here:
http://www.carl-walther.de/public/do...0_k_ET_PPS.pdf As you can see, for example, the #4 PPS sight is 3.8mm, and since the Walther PPQ FE comes with PPS night sights, the front #4 is actually 3.8mm instead of 4.5mm as on the normal PPQ/P99 #4 sight.

Now I'm more confused than ever. According to the Walther exploded parts diagrams, both the P99 and PPQ make use of the same standard 3.8 mm front sight, part # 2697963. They also make use of the same standard 4.6 mm rear sight, part # 2732106. For what it's worth, the P99C also uses the exact same 3.8/4.6 mm sight as equipped from factory, at least according to the parts diagrams.

From my perspective it would then stand to reason that any sight set designed for a P99 should also work on a PPQ, without modification.

1. The height measurements for the Meprolight #18800 are 5 mm front, 8.5 mm rear.
2. The height measurements for the Meprolight #18801 are 4 mm front, 8.5 mm rear.

Unfortunately, he couldn't tell me what sight picture they're set up for.

That being said, all other things being equal, the #18801s will obviously shoot higher than the #18800s when installed on a PPQ.

Compared to the standard factory sights on a PPQ (3.8 mm front, 4.6 mm rear), the Meprolights seem gargantuan by comparison.

ELEVATION
Elevation adjustments are made by using front sights of varying height.
Steel Front Sights of varying height are an accessory item.
If the shots group low, use a lower front sight. For high grouping, use a higher one.
The front sights are numbered. The higher the number, the higher the front sight.
Each stage results in a correction of the impact by about 2” (5 cm) over a 25 yards

Hope it works for everybody...
