Gun auctions STILL amaze me. It should have went for the buy it now price (or a tad more) of $389.

Yeah, it was still included. I confirmed it with the seller. Some potato head bid it up to the buy it now of $389 (so stupid, this is why I hate auctions) and my final bid of $430 lasted until the last 15 minutes. I thought I was going to win it and I asked the guy and he said yes, it was included. So based on that, and knowing next day FedEx runs at LEAST $45 ~ $50 I figured I was getting the piece for $390 ~ $395. If I would have known about the auction earlier I would have just bought it for $389. But alas, it was not meant to be..............

If any of you know of a mint, fairly priced, old variant 9mm (AS) in black let me know. I'm a buyer or would trade straight up a like-new (AE?) frame.40 for it straight across.

Some people are stupid, what a waste of money. I usually only do "buy it nows" because I can't stand bidding on something that will just get over bid, it's crazy.

Ditto to what 1989ZR-1 said; would not surprise me to see that listed again at some point. Did not research either the seller or bidders here so will not say it is the case in this particular auction, but there is in fact fraudulent activity on that Gunbroker site, a lot of reputable sellers and a lot of good deals going on, but have personally seen fraudulent activity, sellers that are not reputable, 'shill bidding', and like that. I would urge caution in doing anything on Gunbroker, you are far better off supporting a local dealer and let them track down whatever it is you want, that is what I have learned to do, in the end, usually get as good a deal or better than anything on an auction site, without the risk of buying from someone you have no idea who or what they are, and then there is the high level of risk you incur by possibly ending up with one of those sleezes knowing your home address and the fact that you may have firearms of value. There ARE less than reputable characters operating on Gunbroker.

I know the slide shows holster wear, but this is exactly what I was looking for ( `03 or older with Walther stamp, not laser etched).  When I get it I will send the slide into Tripp for a chrome job.
Shipwreck, if you are out there, I have a few questions about Tripp.
Did you get the Cobra Hard Chrome or Cobra Coat?
What did you have them do to the de-cocker button and extractor lever?

Be very careful in dealings on Gunbroker. I know of good experiences and some bad experiences that caused me to start looking into how they operate.
Experiences I know about indicate that appeared that there was no concern on the part of Gunbroker when an individual buyer gets shafted as long as they get their fee paid by the seller they seem fine with whatever transpires, good or bad, legal or illegal.

The sale described in this thread is yet another example of why to purchase firearms only through a reputable local FFL dealer, not Gunbroker. I knew one ATF agent that was CO of a Marine unit I was in and he was a good guy; there are good agents trying to keep the country safe.

Would not surprise me if at some point the Gunbroker web site was shut down in the interest of homeland security. Auction sites should only be acceptable when operated/managed with utmost integrity and safeguards.
