Nice pistol my second Walther First was a P22 that I have a SWR Suppressor for.

i'll be buying a conversion barrel for this one in 9mm

Who should I buy the barrel from? I need it in 1/2x28 thread
Can I use 40 call mags for 9mm? or do I have to buy 9mm mags?

What issues or wear should I look for on this "new" pistol?

You cannot use .40 mags to hold 9mm rounds. You will have to buy 9mm mags. Didn't your P99 come with two 9mm magazines? New P99s are supposed to come with 2 mags.

My P99 is a 40 cal.....So it came with 40 Cal Mags. I was reading in other posts that the P99 40 Call can be converted to 9mm with just a change of a barrel? So what your saying is that I need 9mm mags and a barrel?

Yes, to convert a .40 to 9mm, you will need to get a 9mm barrel and 9mm mags. Others on this board have gone to Bar sto for the barrel. Some have also converted to .357 Sig.

Good luck, and I hope this info helps.

You've got an early production example. Serial numbering started at 401001.

If you have a slide lock problem, P88 can advise. I don't own a .40S&W P99.
