I'm trying to find info on my p38,which is such a mixmaster that it has post war grips. The frame is Spreewerk(I believe, has 88 waffenampt),and the slide is ac 41(Walther,I believe),I'm sorry that my pics are really bad,but my camera is falling apart,so here is my questions...
1)The serial number on the frame seems restamped because when I added white crayon to it,I can see 2 very faint numbers, any idea from the script?only 1 side has "VV" after sn,and there is also the number 46 on trigger guard..

2)There is an "E",and some type of "standing Lion"on trigger guard, any idea what this is?

I don't have pics, but the barrel is very pitted outside, but has sn 5061t
Thanks for any help!

I saw your other post on the P38 forum, to which I responded. It is originally a Spreewerk frame rebuilt and renumbered by the Czechs. The slide and barrel are later replacements as they were not renumbered to match the slide (which the Czechs usually did in these rebuilds). The barrel sides may have acceptance marks which would tell you who made it. WaA88 is Spreewerk, WaA359 is Walther, WaA135 is Mauser.

I appreciate your help (both times) :)
