HELP! Where to purchase Walther PPQ 45 non-threaded barrels?

3209 Views 6 Replies 7 Participants Last post by  gunholder
I purchased a Walther PPQ 45 ACP with threaded barrel and I love it,

apparently when visiting family in another state.. it is a felony to shoot the gun at any of their gun ranges. I'm not trying to lose my gun rights or cause any trouble. I just want to shoot at a supervised/legal gun range.

Any help or links will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,

Two places.......Walther USA and Earls Repair Service. You'll need to call either one to check availability, price and place an order.

If it's NY do yourself a favor and leave the pistol home. I live in NY and there is no reciprocity for pistol licences. Unless your here to shoot a match I wouldn't bring any guns into this liberal S-hole.

If not NY I realize that probably isn't helpful. Posting what state you are heading too may get you better info.

Which Commie state is it a felony to possess or shoot a pistol with threaded barrel non-suppressed? Just curious so I never go there or spend any money online there.

Agree with Lostnthewoods, I'd rent something before taking my pistol to wherever it is.

NY and Cali for sure. Don't know about others, but those I looked up. Threaded barrel alone makes it an "illegal assault style weapon."
As does an adjustable stock, because being able to scooch my car seat back and forth makes my little blue coupe a battle tank, too.

Apparently it's illegal in certain areas of Virginia without a concealed permit.

§ 18.2-287.4. Carrying loaded firearms in public areas prohibited; penalty.
It shall be unlawful for any person to carry a loaded (a) semi-automatic center-fire rifle or pistol that expels single or multiple projectiles by action of an explosion of a combustible material and is equipped at the time of the offense with a magazine that will hold more than 20 rounds of ammunition or designed by the manufacturer to accommodate a silencer or equipped with a folding stock or (b) shotgun with a magazine that will hold more than seven rounds of the longest ammunition for which it is chambered on or about his person on any public street, road, alley, sidewalk, public right-of-way, or in any public park or any other place of whatever nature that is open to the public in the Cities of Alexandria, Chesapeake, Fairfax, Falls Church, Newport News, Norfolk, Richmond, or Virginia Beach or in the Counties of Arlington, Fairfax, Henrico, Loudoun, or Prince William.

California, for one.
Pretty sure you can have a threaded barrel only if you pay the $200 tax stamp and go thru the paperwork to own a silencer, otherwise its a felony.
When I moved here I had to dismantle my PPQ and now I'm in the same boat -- need a non-threaded barrel...
