I can't believe it - I was looking at my p99 and the wife bumped into me and I dropped the damn thing - had it less than a week.

Anyway - the rear sight got chipped on the edge.

I know some of you guys have switched to night sights. Anyone have a stock rear sight I can buy off of you?

I don't know, I've never dropped my P99. The sights are plastic so I can see them breaking. I'll have to add a set of Meps to my todo list I suppose. Never know if you have to use your gun defensivley, it may hit the ground if you're knocked over or suprised. Well, at least it's feasable. Thanks for the heads up.

I do know the art of point shooting, but as the range grows, point shooting effectiveness goes down. Not that both the getting knocked on your butt and needing to draw, and range are exclusive. Idealy I guess thowing my AR over my shoulder would work, but people would probably get nervous.

Man, thats a bummer. I dropped my Sig P220 right after I had got the thing refinished. It dinged two corners. I just put it up for a couple of months until I could stand to look at it... It really was not as bad as I originally thought...
If it were me, I'd either order the European sights from Walther, or it would be a good excuse to try Walther's fiber optic sights... Mmmm, they look nice...
Sorry ShipWreck, I feel your pain!

Nix on the Fiber optics...I have the front sight and I am not overly impressed with it...either call Walther and see what they can do...or order some Meprolights...Or the 24/7 Big Dots...but I am sure you can get some rear sights somewhere here on this site.

Walther sells just the front sight and then they sell the combo, which look different. Your referring Jake to the single front sight I pressume...

Not that it'll make you feel any better ShipWreck, but iron sights might not have faired much better than the plastic in a fall... The tritrium vials might have broke in the glow in the dark ones too... Some things just don't do well when dropped... I say this only to stem the presumption that iron is always better... Plastic has it's place...

Well, I called Walther - Someone on AR15 is sending me a sight, but I decided to order another one to be on the safe side - I already damaged the one on my SW99 last year (luckily, it did zero damage to the gun itself). So, I figured I'd better keep a spare.

They want $32 for the Walther one. The SW99 sight - the exact same sight, is $16.66. I bought one - they would not give me one for free, unfortunately.
