I don't have an SC, but I've used this technique before for a similar problem. Gently push the slide forward until it stops, then, pull and hold the trigger all the way to the rear. With the trigger held to the rear, see if you can push the slide any farther forward. If so, then push the 'take down' lever/dohickey down, as you normally would to remove the slide and go ahead and push the slide off the frame.
If that doesn't work, AND, if you can push the slide far enough to the rear to allow you to remove the end cap, push er' back, hold it there (may require 3 handes) and remove the slide end cap. Now, see if you can then push the slide forward (if the striker was hanging up, the slide will get to that point and the striker will catch and stop as you continue to move the slide forward, you'll notice that the stiker is now beginning to be extracted from the slide (and that's OK), keep pushing the slide forward until it hits a hard stop again.....Now, push the use the take down lever down and remove the slide off the frame as usual. If this worked, you'll wind up with the striker completely removed from the slide.
Now, put the striker back in the 4" slide, replace end cap.
Check your SC for any damage (if you were gentle, there shouldn't be any).
Reassemble SC and make a mental note 'don't do that again'.
