I bought this P5 at a gun show in Virginia Beach, I figured out how to field strip it. Came with box, two mags and cleaning rod. I think this one may be Police but not sure.

You can tell by the markings if it is a police or not
if it is a police the price should be about $500......
SOG sells them for $430 + shipping + transfer
on the frame (underside of triggerguard) it should have the import markings and the slide should have either a mill mark on the right side or the "BMI" crossed out....
You can again, like on your P99, tell what year it was made by the date code on the left side by the triggerguard.

IMHO one of the best Walthers made .. the felt recoil is minimal ... and if they ever had made it in steel it would be a dream come true

congrats on one fine firearms you got

Uncut, it does have the BMI crossed out and the date of 2/84 stamped on the right side of the slide.

So on the left side on the frame on the front portion by the trigger guard does it have the staghorn and the letters "IE" ??

The "IE" on the P5 is the same then the "AA" on your P99
It tells you the year the guns was proof tested
I was just curious if your P5 was issued as police gun the same year as it was prooftested .....
hope you get to take it to the range soon.... it is a sweet shooter
