Why is it that whenever you look in a gun magazine there is never any ads for Walther firearms especially the fine p99. Even with the symbiotic relationship with S&W there seems to be no promotion of their fabulous products.
In turn this affects the accessory market regarding the things we would all like to see such as lasers and caliber changeovers along with tweaks and upgrades to suit the owners such as are available for other guns including trigger jobs and recoil spring options.
Walther has an illustrious past but aftermarketers and gunsmiths always seem to take an extremely long time to satisfy us with the goodies afforded to everyone else.
It's like Walther owners are like a secret society that nobody else understands.
Any thoughts?

When the P99 first came out there were plenty of ads, they have tapered off considerably since then, while the S&W SW99 ads are showing up more.
I bet that Walther and S&W have a "limited competition" agreement. That here in the U.S., S&W would have the dominant share of the market, in exchange Walther could have the rest of the world, but that if the U.S. consumer *really* wanted a Walther P99 they could be found.
Just a guess though.
