The German Special Forces have chosen the Walther PDP as their next service pistol.
That's a big win for Walther.

‘Bubba’ is in the process of making his P14 paint stencils right now… 😂The Walther PDP will be called the P14 and P14k in German military service.
Tim is a member of this forum, though I haven't seen him around in a while.Fwiw Wikipedia isn’t a reliable source of information anymore (was it ever?). Even Jimmy Wales (founder) agrees. It spun out of control a while ago and it’s gatekept pretty hardcore by a small handful of “editors” who hold the keys of what gets passed as reality and factual on the internet. Sort of like Snopes
Also, Tim from MAC isn’t a shill. He’s one of the GOA leaders in Indiana and does a lot for 2A; isn’t just some guntuber collecting sponsorships
With cutout for optics makes it hard to include decocker.Hmmm...how are we going to do that?
BTW, this wouldn't have a decocker on it would it...The Walther PDP will be called the P14 and P14k in German military service.
I find it very interesting the German SF's have adopted the Walther PDP. But how many will they purchase, just to outfit their SF's VS the balance of their Military? Most likely less than 5,000 since their Sf units, & support staff are small compared to the total German military. Most SF units worldwide have different budgets compared to their counterparts in total military personal. So, justifying the purchase price for the elite units is different, including getting the best pistol money can buy, & passing the requirements established by the units concerned. Looking at the model that was chosen, it is duked up for a warrior in mind, & added optics to complete the package. I would bet the trigger, & other internals are better than a civilian stock PDP model. Either way it would be nice if Walther down the road introduced a civilian model to commemorate the Military SF Model, with optics included. That would leave all of us trying to justify purchasing one.BTW, this wouldn't have a decocker on it would it...
From the article sited at the top of this thread, the contract looks to be for 6500 service pistols, plus another 1200 designated as "training" pistols.I find it very interesting the German SF's have adopted the Walther PDP. Separate contract, one that HK already has in the bag by all accounts.I think there is still the CCW pistol contract for their special forces, that supposedly a separate contract from the one just awarded. Hopefully, Walther is competing for that too! I am curious about the trigger specifics.
Not finding any pictures of what you are referring to.Any guesses as to who makes that micro comp on the full size P14? That looks pretty cool.
The official pics of the FDE full size P14. It has a micro comp on the threaded barrel. Not finding any pictures of what you are referring to.
I don't see any official picture of the full size P14 in FDE. I do see a picture in an article about the P14. Article was on the 4shooters website. The official pics of the FDE full size P14. It has a micro comp on the threaded barrel.
It's linked in the other thread right on this forum: (1) German Special Forces Pistol Officially Announced | Walther ForumsI don't see any official picture of the full size P14 in FDE. I do see a picture in an article about the P14. Article was on the 4shooters website.

This what you are looking for? It was available last Christmas at Sportsman's Warehouse.Walther needs to offer a civilian version to commemorate The German SF model with included mounted optics. That would leave a lot of us figuring out which weapons need to go for the new addition, or save up the funds to own one?
Close but not exact. This what you are looking for? It was available last Christmas at Sportsman's Warehouse. View attachment 118030
Same gun except for color and optic. The optic they chose isn't much different just more expensive.Close but not exact.![]()
I'm sure that's mostly true.Same gun except for color and optic. The optic they chose isn't much different just more expensive.
